Of course! Top and Maruchan

Of course! Top and Maruchan are the best brands of ramen, and personally, I like the oriental flavor and the sesame chicken best.

Ramen

Ramen...I still like it on occasion, but it reminds me too much of the days when that was all I could afford to eat! :P

Werunon's picture

Ramen, huh?

Damn... I don't think you can even get ramen here. That's why all my experiences with ramen are mysteriously related to every kid's favourite anime with somewhat tasteless humour at times, Naruto! What does ramen actually have in it?

misteriosa's picture

The "ramen" most (some?) of us are talking about...

...is instant noodles:

I stock up on the stuff.

It's surprisingly good! I prefer shrimp flavor, but I now notice the numerous flavors of it. I did also enjoy Chicken-Mushroom.

Am I the only one?

Awww... come on... am I the only one here who has never had ramen? I'm going to start digging the shelves of our oriental food shops here in Oulu if I am!

Never had it; have no

Never had it; have no intention to ever change that.

Ramen is the equivalent of Amen for the Rastafari which are Prayers for the FSM( Flying Spaghetti Monster)

But yes I Like Ramen

Actually, that PASTAfari, or

Actually, that PASTAfari, or pastafarians.

Yep ...

Rastafarians are a bit different ... -_^

I know I have been touched by His Noodly Appendage.

The Finnish Pastafari

The FSM has touched some of us Finns too. We actually had this "political party" named "Suomen pastallisdemokraatit" which would be the Finnish Pastasticdemocrats in English, I think.

Orwain's picture

I wonder

In case they get to power someday, will they impose a theocracy ? :P
I have hopes that be the case, their theocracy to be better than the ones we know. lol

Really. what do they stand for? what do they propose?

Amee's picture

No FSM Theocracy

Theocracy would go against His "I'd Really Rather You Didn'ts".

We simply propose that if Intelligent Design is taught in schools, every form of Intelligent Design should get fair mention. We believe that our creator is a Flying Spaghetti Monster, Pirates are his holy people and they protect us from global warming, and that Heaven has a beer volcano and a stripper factory. Hell is much the same but the beer is stale and all the strippers have VD.

However, an FSM borderline-theocracy like we have with Christianity in America would probably result in 24/7 beer availability, many more strip clubs, and government sanctioned time for developing a sense of humor.

Orwain's picture

I know about PASTAfarism

Is just since in Finnlad there is a political party what seems to share some things with it I was wondering if they may try to impose a FSM theocracy in case they become government. LOL

Werunon's picture

Not an actual party

Well the Finnish pastasticdemocrats really wasn't a party or anything. It was pretty much a joke and something to show some Finnish peoples' opinion about what was going in the States. Actually here in Finland we are taught the evolution theory but because the majority of the Finnish people are lutherians, we have religion as a school subject too. Although we are taught about the religion from a third person view, you could say. The book we used had chapters about the larger religions such as Hinduism, Buddhism, Christianity (lutherian, catolic, orthodox, anglikan, the ones founded during the age of enlightement) and Islam but also about primitive religions, the Jehova's witnesses, the Rastafari and many other religions. The ones who aren't a part of a Church are taught some other school subject. For example Islam believers have lessons that fit their religion and atheists have their own lessons. I think it's a good system we've got in here.

Orwain's picture

Of course it was a joke when

Of course it was a joke when I asked if they may ever become government. For what I see, it seems, there you have a pretty good education system, here I lost count of how many different attempts to modify the education system they have done, but what can you expect when the government or the ppl who are part of it only care about themselves, the population lacks democratic knowledge and there is a serious lack of real options.

Used to live on the stuff when I was a broke student...now that I'm a habitually broke working stiff, I live off salad...go fig. Had to do something to work off that Ramen belly...

the great thing is that

the great thing is that Ramen can taste different every time you eat it, for example, just before it's done boiling, I throw in broccoli and chopped up carrots, and add garlic salt. (Works especially good with beef flavor)
